experiences with drilled/slotted rotors..

I am curious as to everyones experience with drilled and slotted rotors... I have put new front and rear drilled and slotted rotors as well as new kevlar ceramic pads all around and am wondering how everyone else likes em.. So far they are nice and quiet but I am wondering about pad and rotor wear.

I have the Irotors.com slotted/drilled rotors with OEM pads. My brakes are strong, quiet and very little dust. Good luck with the setup.

I have drilled and slotted rotors as well, The stopping power is great, one thing I notice is under high speed heavy braking, there is a hell of alot of vibration. This could be taken care of by grinding the rotors back into flat. The funny thing is under normal braking conditions, there is no vibration at all. Anyone have any ideas on this? I think it may be that the out of flat condition is very minimal and is only noticable at high speed under heavy load.

irotors as well. great power. they make noise when i stop, like a grinding noise, which is expected, but they don't vibrate. i've had them for roughly greater than a year.

I installed the brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors 6 months back and used stock pads. I haven't seen any major wear, they work great, and look great. The noise is minimal but you can hear the car slowing down. A great upgrade from stock. But a definite improvement over stock.

How did you put iRotors on an 02? According to their website they don't make rotors for any Maxima's after 01.

Don't drilled/slotted rotors eat away brake pads faster? And create noise with every stop? If yes, then what is the benefit other than the look if not used for auto-x..etc?

Loving them aren't you? I also have the same setup as SgtSchulze, and mine have been on the car for about 18 months now. I'm still quite pleased with their performance and their lack of brake dust.

Now I just need to paint my calipers.

edit: I purchased mine through an ebay listing that iRotors had going on and believe I was one of the first ones running the iRotors setup (thanks Kloogy)

It depends who you talk to and who you believe. General concensus is that they do eat away the pads faster. Supposedly slotted rotors will heat up your pads faster too (good for the track). Cross drilled rotors look cool, and supposedly are more prone to crack (from stress around the drilled hole). This is why some people now sell dimpled rotors. They appear to be cross drilled, but without the propensity to crack.

I need new brakes myself, and I think I'm just going to get the RTP blanks AuToMaX_95 is offering here. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=374496

I have the RTP slotted rotors from the same Group Deal here on the Org, coupled with Hawk pads. I'm happy with the setup. I get better braking power even though I get a little squeak every once in a while at speeds of about 60. I've also seen a reduction in brake dust. The zinc-plating looks pretty nice too
