HID Replacement

Hello all! I had one of my HID's go out. It is a Phillips (Germany) D2R 35Watt
8126 bulb. I am trying to find the kelvin rating of these? Anyone gone through this before. If so any recommendations. Nissan wants $175 for a new bulb.

hmm try looking for some 5000k ones since your working bulb have colorshifted already so the 5000k might match it more than the 4300k bulbs. try looking around on ebay i've seen a pair for about $110'ish before.

EDIT: found one

Or if you want to keep the 4300K stock, you can buy one from here. Very good seller....I bought mine from here thinking I had a burned out bulb (apparantly I didn't because I didn't have the base mounted right, losing my ground connection...Arrgh!). He ships fast...2 days!

you might wanna get both of them cuz the light color changes as time progress and they might not look the same if you get only one.

that's why they have 5000k philips bulbs that are used for replacements in cases like this where only 1 bulb went out and the working one is already around the 5000k'ish temperature.

check hidplanet.com/forums

sometimes they sell used ones dirt cheap. A pair of d2r's can go as low as $35. Usually a d2r bulb will last a while too (they will usually tell you how many hours are on a bulb). If I were you, I'd just get a new pair of bulbs anyways and stick with philips and not osrams. Osrams tend to turn pink more and more and the philips go more on the bluer side.

Can you replace your 4300k bulbs with any kelvin rated bulb? or is there a limit that the factory system can handle?

they all run at 35W...the kelvin rating is just the color that it'll produce.

I ended up getting the 6000K rated from a company on ebay. $115. When I get them I'll post a pic, thanks to all who helped. By the way, has anyone gone through this? I have an 02. I thought these bulbs were supposed to last a very long time

Nice...I like to see pics too. Yeah, the life of the bulbs depend on the usage of them. The quick turning them on and off will definitely shorten the life of the bulb.

I think Yaco Max has some sets for sale at about 95-110 shipped. Look on the 5th gen for sale forums.
