Alright, I can't be the only one with the 6 spoke 17"
alloys on the SE that's glad my hand fits in-between the spokes so I can clean brake dust/dirt off the back side.
Problem is I lose about a pint of blood every week washing
this car (and a '99 accord EX - sorry about the honda thing - it's on its way out of the yard as soon as the new max and the sentra spec V are out and I decide which i like better)
anyway, lose about a pint of blood b/w the sharp metal on the back of the spokes or on the brake hardware.
anyone have any suggestions beside removing the wheel?

yeah.. we all do that...

you can do yourself a favor and wax the wheels (as per the owners manual anyway as the wheels are just painted/cleared). It will help you just spray the dust off... also a VERY MILD brakedust cleaner will work well.. just be sure to get the painted wheel formula.

Okay, question, explain waxing the wheels. Regular wax? Is this better than using the Spray on shine that ends up flying all over my car, even the next day, because it takes forever to dry!? Does this make the tires look black, new and shiny?

Any advice helps...I'm washing my baby today. Done with the storms and it's not supposed to rain for at least the next 7 days so it's time to wash and shine!

Yeah regular wax that you use on the body

They're talking about the wheels not tires. The spray on stuff makes the tires shiny. Wax helps the wheels by making them in a sense slicker so brake dust doesn't adhere to them.

Ahh, now I understand. Don't use wax on the rubber in other words (boy, does that sound kinky, )

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I was thinking waxing the actual tires was a new concept for me.

Don't worry about it, who can see inside the wheel??
With the 16"ers I just hit every thing I can with the sheep skin mit and forget it.
Also, wax the wheels, it will help preserve the clear coat.

Have any of you guys used..

Castrol wheel cleaner? I love that thing man! I spray my wheels, and the brake dust instantly disolves. Probably stripping the finish off the rims, but that stuff works wonders.
