Has anyone done this comparison yet ? Thinking of possibly upgrading to a 5th gen or supercharging my 4th gen manual, the only prob i have is the 5th gens arew only available in automatic here in australia, they're damn nice we get i30's badged as maxima's with maxima trim. What I want to know would a 5th gen auto be quicker than my 4th gen manual ???]
Also HTF do get off newbie I've been coming here everyday for the last 9mths ?

You are ranked as an Enthusiast here! Also I think the 5-speed fourth gen is slightly faster.

Ahhh finally upgraded, now an enthusiast !!!
Is the 2002 maxima gonna be the same shape or are they changing it, I asked a Nissan rep he said they're working on the 3.5 in the states though it is unknown whether it will end up in the maxima's because of the good run they've had with the VQ30DE, he said it may come out for one more series, with some more power enchanced revisions.

Same body with the 3.5L engine. The body style will change when it goes to full-size in 2003.

The 4th gen Manual is a good bit quicker than a 5th gen auto. The 5th gen's auto tranny sucks worse than the 4th gen's.
