You should look for a locksmith that can program the keys, they are sooo much more cheaper, and often times, most some locksmiths are equipped with vehicles that have all the tools with them, so they can cut and program keys literally whereever you are. Did I mention it's cheaper then the dealer ?

Don't they have to use the consult II to program the keys? If so, you are going to be VERY hard pressed to find anyone outside of a Nissan dealer that has one of those.

Where in NY are you? If you're around the Queens/Long Island area, call this number, 7186759415, a dude by the name of Victor will answer, hes a locksmith, and if I recall, he will cut and program the Maxima key (or any other key other then the lasercut ones), for around 60-70$. He did quite a few cars for me, and had no problem, he does onsite work.

Yes you do. Do you still have your valet key? If so, you should have two regular keys and the valet. I used my valet for the auto start module so I still have my other two.

No you won't need another key. It'll be a ***** getting that key you ground down to hold in a 556U, but it is possible. Usually two pieces of foam sandwich the metal part of the key into the 556U and hold it there. You should be able to figure something out though.

but you can get the key from VIN alone. i know my local honda does it. they have the stuff all in the honda database. well theirs anyway, since the car was purchased at that specific dealer. got it programmed and everything. forgot teh price though.
