some problem....

this weekend i decided to clean my intake filter.
but in order to remove the filter i had to disconnect the battery,
(i have an injen intake so the battery had to be moved a little to get it out)
so i cleaned the filter it dried i oiled it put it back in connected the battery
and WOW the the car is not running the same at all my acceleration is sh!tty,
it seems my car lost its power.
example: ill floor the gas it will take forever to get up to 70-80 also while accelerating it sounds like gas stops going to the engine for a split second then kicks back in could it be my MAF???????????????????
i have 94,000 miles on my car too.

I'd say MAF, any SES codes/lights?

Is everything mecahnically and electrically connected properly?

might not be a bad MAF. did you connect all the intake tubing back up right? if any air leaks in, the MAF retards the car to protect itself

If you took off the MAF just double check that the MAF is well seated in the connector, check the wire too. If you over oiled the filter it's very likely that the MAF might be gone.

I cleaned my injen cone and lost power instantly. granted my cone wasn't in the best condition. it was hard to even break traction on a 2k rpm launch the motor bogged so badly. I put the stock box back on and gained the power back then i decided to buy a k&n filter that is much bigger than the stock injen one it. i think its part #4190 or something like that. Instantly noticed that the motor pulled stronger past 3500 rpm and even harder at 5k. I think im gonna purchase an apex'i filter next time i need one.

How long did you let the filter sit for before installing it and starting up?

K&N tells you to let it sit for hours so the oil soaks in. If you dont you can kill your MAF.
