6spd Fluid Capacity

I have read in places on here, specifically the HOWTO on changing to redline that the trans takes 2.5 quarts. he also mentions to fill till its at the fill hole level. well i went to the dealer to buy trans fluid and he said it needed 3.5 quarts. so i bought 4 and the trans took the full 3.5 quarts before it started coming back outta the fill hole. whats the deal here

I used a little over 2.5 qts and did not have the car jacked up.

If only the front of the car is lifted it will hold more before pouring out of the fill hole due to the angle. To assure a proper level, you should try to fill it on solid ground. However, I doubt a little extra fluid will hurt anything since there's plenty of room for it to just sit in the case.

you probably just didn't notice it until then...i put 3 full quarts in mine, but it was draining out of the fill hole for quite a while afterwards because i just wasn't paying attention...
