Got it Will take some pics and will post em later today. BTW, you can see the yellow cap inside the housing, especially if you are using the larger cap than H3 and no shield...

geeeez, who put the screws in the housing? I broke my first screw, and the rest are just as tight. Anyone else have trouble getting the housing screw off? I sprayed them a few times with penetrator oil and they are still tight. I tried using vice grips so I wouldn't strip it with a screw driver and the screw actually broke, and yes, I'm turning counter clockwise. HEEEEEELP. LOL

After my first screw broke I said screw it (no pun intended) and put it in the oven with the the piece still on and it was not a problem at all.

So, you do not need to take them out.

I used a knife tip to pry it under the screw-head and a screw driver to turn it... One was missing in my housing and one was stripped (PITA to remove)... IMO, I think if you glue the lense on properly screws won't matter that much...

i have put capsules in a couple of set of lights and those screws can be a huge pain in the ***. I use a screw gun w/ the torque turned up, if the screw doesnt come right out, the clicking of the guns clutch usualy will slowly ease the screw out w/o twisting the heads clean off. but i have also lost a few screw heads, it doesnt matter that much if they are gone, the light will stay in the housing just fine

The harness comes off, just not the two screws that hold the surrounding plastic piece on.

Philips GT150's for now, will be going to HID's sometime, but that is prolly a year away at least. I couldn't stand the OEM bulbs anymore.

They look nice, I will also be going for HID's in about a year... I was going to this spring but I went for the Stillen Aero lip instead. (should be delivered tomorrow)

Everyone just needs to bear in mind, "yellowness" and brightness are two different things. Brightness can be related to the amount of usable light. In the end, the heavier the filter, the less light is emitted. The Lexus capsules are the heaviest filter, giving the most yellow light, but the end result is the least amount of luminous flux or usable light...on the road.

Yes, but the yellow capsules block most of the non-yellow light waves, which results in a much cleaner reflection in wet conditions due to the properties of light. So there is much less glare and therefore better visibility with LESS total light output.

Anyone know if Redlinemax.com still has the Halo Super Yellow H3s? They aren't shown on the site and they aren't answering my e-mails.

Hey guys, I just ordered a set of hids for my fogs (4th Gen). However, I am using a H3 mini bulb thus it will be the size of stock bulb. Is it still worth going to 9006 capsule or can I stay with the H3 capsule and not have it break since I do not want to open up the fog light?

I made a purchase from that site on the 18th of september, and still no word on where the order went... I would have spent the extra 15 dollars if I knew they would take this long.

Nevermind, to clear up that company's name I'll fix my previous post. The lexus style capsules were out of stock by the time I bought them. Still, I'm not sure why they didn't just send me a notice, but anyway, they got more in stock, and they shipped right away.

I noticed throughout this thread people have recommended the use of 9006 capsules, where I see the bulbs offered here are 9003 capsules. Are they pretty much the same thing? Safe with correct fit and same installation instructions?

EDIT***
Also, I checked the wattage on the bulbs I already installed, Sylvania Silverstar H3ST, and it's 65. Seeing as how stock is 55W, is having a higher wattage bulb going to put me in a risk category for breakage?

The 9006 capsule is a bit bigger and gives a bit of a gap at the bottom. We all figured that it would "ventilate" better and keep the bulb cooler than the 9003 (which is a snug fit), thus prolonging bulb life.

55-65w shouldn't make much of a difference, though with the yellow capsules you can just buy cheapo OEM replacement H3's for 2 bucks and they work fine.

With the 9003 capsule do you still have to take apart the fog light assembly?

I just bought the Nokya 2500k Yellows from fleabay... A friend that has a trailblazer hails by them, so does the trailblazer forum he frequents. I only saw two instances in this thread regarding them. One from irish in his original post saying that they were just like the other two in his original thread and one from some other guy saying they were amazing.

Anyone else use them? Thoughts?

Dr.Roy has used them with HID fog lights - I think there's a pic of his car somewhere up in this thread.

I'm happy with the output, and don't really want to spend money on any $20 H3 bulbs just to experiment. I would NOT use higher wattage due to the possibilities of breaking the capsule (heat), breaking the fog lens (heat), or burning out the wiring harness (power) - all of which have happened to people around here IIRC.

Anyone on the Nokya Bulbs... ALSO, did you guys have to jack up your cars to access the fogs. Or just laid on the good old floor.

no its has happened to me... with all the aftermarket fog light bulbs... theres only 1 wire on that bulb and the silver portion is ur ground... i burned about 3 sets of fog light bulbs in a month... and moved it back to the oem bulbs... after further research of the bulb i looked into it with a magnifying glass **late at nite** lol and i seen that one wire was grounding out into the casing... and it just left it as is and never went to go buy another one...

but as for wat u said thanx for the info... i kinda figured that the bulb might cause the lense to explode due to heat but seeing as ur are the home depot mod and u change things more than ur underwear lol jk i figured i'd ask away... thanx

If you guys are afraid of burning wire issues with HID fogs, I have a small writeup in the I35 section on how to make the proper relay needed to draw directly from battery.

I'm deciding to get fogs for my car. Not sure which ones provide the more yellow "lexus" look. Either the Nokya's or the Luminics.. Anyone have any comparisons of the two?

yo kabir, what's up. I tried a couple of different bulbs in my housing with the capsules. My results:

You only notice a difference when they first turn on...after it warms up...it goes back to the deeeep **** yellow no matter WHAT bulb.

Piaa Xtreme Whites - neon yellow at first.. almost green. lol..
Polarg Pure Yellows - a little darker than **** yellow

I have the PIAA's in there now... since they came with my car and sold the Yellow Polargs. Those polargs btw were MUCH MORE Yellow than the piaa ion crystal yellow bulbs I've tried..

I just got the 9003 capsules in the mail yesterday, and after taking a look at them, they look a lot different than the capsules pictured earlier in this thread. They are not cylindrical like the ones in the pics, but actually look more like christmas tree bulbs, narrow at the ends and fat in the middle. I was going to attempt to install them today, but I'm a little nervous I may have gotten the wrong capsules

I will try to post pics since I haven't seen any yet with the 9003 capsules compared to the 9006.
