When i start my 02 i hear a squealing sound coming from the front right area of the car...to me ti sounds like a belt and my dad said he thinks my serpentine belt needs to be changed...can anyone provide me with any feedback on this annoyance...i can't stand having such a nice car make that sound

 

They might just need some belt lube, I just had to change mine and they were almost six years old.

Bring her to nissan and have them check them, make sure they are not cracked glazed or loose.

If they are cracked or glazed, time for new ones.

 

i wonder if they will charge me to check this

 

You can inspect the belt shape (cracks, dry, tightness, etc) and see if it needs replacement/adjustment. Go through the stickies, there is how-to for them...

 

it might just be the hood?? newayz sorry to thread jack like NASTY but i cant post any new threads so maybe sum1 will be nice n help me out...for sum reason everytime i brake once the rpmz hit about 1.5-1.7k they just basically die to about 500k then jump up once more to 1.0 which should be normal idle...it happens EVERYTIME i brake n i kno this cant be normal because it didnt happen when i first bought the car...any ideas plz?? sorry again for the threadjack jdjones4....
