For those of you with the OSCAI/K&N setup....do you get a whistling/sucking sound when the AC is on and you are crusing between 1500 and 3000 revs? I have noticed this lately, especially when it is humid outside.

I don't normally get it.....only sometimes though...but always when the AC is on. Seems normal, but just checking if anyone else got it too

I get it at higher rpms, but I thought it was probably just the OSCAI. Haven't really noticed any difference with the A/C, but I might if I ever turned down the stereo...

Don't forget that the OSCAI was originally called the Air Silencer Cold Air Intake. It eventually became known as the Ooglie Stock Cold Air Intake (or OSCAI). But if you check back far enough and you remember what you disconnected when you installed the OSCAI, you'll understand why you're getting that whistling noise.

That's true, but considering the 2k1 does not have the resonator at all indicates that the white box really was not doing anything. When the AC is not on, there is a very slight noise that is hardly noticeable. I guess the AC puts a little extra stress on the engine causing it to suck in a bit more air, thus leading to the whistling noise. Not a big deal, but I was just curious as to whether or not anyone else had noticed the same.

well i have a late model 2000 which is built like the 2001s and we do not have that L-tube or resonator thingies down there... it was just a little stump sealed off coming from the hood scoop...
