My cousin had a remote start alarm installed on his 01 AE 5 spd and the installer accidentally sparked the airbag wire with a test wire when getting to the e-brake wire. The alarm and car are fine but the airbag light flashes. The installer said it just needs to be reset. The installer is going to call him back on Monday to see if a buddy of his can reset it with a scanner, if not then it will need to go to the dealer to be reset with the Nissan scanner. My cousin is a mechanic as well and when he tried to reset it on his scanner it was saying he needs a different version to reset. It gave out a manual direction to turn the ignition on and off twice to reset it, but we tried that and nothing. Did the disconnecting the battery overnight thing and nothing as well. Anybody have any ideas or tricks on how to reset the flashing airbag light? We are hoping its not the module that is fried or if it's calling for the airbags to be replaced! Thanks in advance!
