Anyone ever try to make a new intake snorkle?
I was wondering if anyone who had an aftermarket intake like a Berk/Franenkcar made a new snorkle? I figured that since the snorkle's job is to let fresh cold air enter, can't we make a new one to direct air to the new cone filter? The stock one is pretty restrictive with all of its baffles and silencer, wouldn't it make sense that if we had a new smooth snorkle directed at the new filter we'll get even better high end?
i remember there was on awhile back...he put an elbow near the splash guard at the bottom of the car...then routed the piping all the way into the airbox...
i think when it all comes down to it....none of this stuff really works...unless someone out there can prove me wrong

The problem with the Max and cone filters is it's placement farther back in the engine bay instead of right in front(like a G35). When you put on a cone, it's vulnerable to heat soak from the motor. The BEST solution would be to make an enclosure for the cone with ducts giving it fresh air. A while back I designed a bubble-like shape for the cone with a large duct scooping air from the bottom of the car. I never ended up making one because I never got to buy a Max. My main problem was deciding what material would be the best for making the bubble. I thought fiberglass, but was never sure of how well it would hold up. Carbon fiber would work!
