2000 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ:
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 8.7 sec.
Weight: 3263 lbs.
Horsepower: 195 hp @ 5500 rpm
Torque: 205 ft-lbs. @ 4500 rpm

2000 Nissan Maxima GXE:
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 6.7 sec.
Weight: 3186 lbs.
Horsepower: 222 hp @ 6400 rpm
Torque: 217 ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm

The intake will give the Galant @ 5hp...
Agreed... no contest!!! Road kill

hell, that GTZ would be roadkill even for an automagic. Go watch your friend get creamed and buy him a beer afterwards to cheer him up.

Actually, he said "a stock auto gxe(might be se) vs. a 2000 galant gtz with intake(auto)". I assumed it was a 2000 Max also... my bad
Since his sig says GLE, so I am guessing we are talking about another car.
kevlo911, please clarify.
1997 Nissan Maxima GLE:

Acceleration (0-60 mph): 6.9 sec.
Weight: 3001 lbs.
Horsepower: 190 hp @ 5600 rpm
Torque: 205 ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm

This one will be a closer race, but the Max should still edge out the Mits because it is lighter.
This one will be up to driver skill. Whoever can get the better take-off and better manual shifting.

This is if you leave it in drive and just floor it.
If you get the manual shifting down it will be better.
I can get 0-60 in mid to low 7 seconds.

You should be able to get it below 8 easy even leaving it in drive.

I can still get it 0-60 in 7.6 seconds with 100 pounds of equioment and the heavy a$$ 17" SE rims on. Where is everyone getting 8 seconds from?

Best time 0-60 by Motor Trend: 6.7 sec. Your time is pretty darn good considering MT uses "professional" drivers.
You should hit sub 6 with all those goodies coming to ya!

btw: Mazda RX-8 is alive and kickin...new rotory(Renesis) is 250hp in na form. Fellow rotory fanatic....

6.7 was a 5spd, not an auto. Sub 6? Probably not without NOS or a S/C.
