First, you'll need a set of 2002-03 headlights.
Then, these instructions should guide you the rest of the way: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/angel_eyes.html

Hey I thinkin about doing a y-pipe next on my 2002 max. All I can find available is the warpspeed ... is it worth it? I dont want headers because I can't stand the rasp they make at high rpm, so no headers. Anyways $250 for 20 hp doesn't sound too bad.

My headers don't rasp @ 71000 RPM

The y-pipe is unequal length, so your car will sound like a tractor.

Thankyou for the reply. Do I really need 2002-2003 lights for those set of angel eyes you posted since they use the HID lighting system? Some of the dual halo angel eyes projectors i'm looking at say they are not to be used with a HID lighting system. I do imagine though the ones using the HID lighting system are a lot brighter?

After going through many of the threads regarding "RSB" and "FTSB" - I am have very interested in installing it to my stock 2002. However, I have neither the tools or the know-how to install it my auto, SE.

Does anybody have the the know-how and the tools for the install? I will compensate for the time spent. I am willing to travel 40 miles radius from Manhanttan. I asked my local mechanic about the RSB/FTSB and he commented that he has no experience in installing it, but he will try.

I thought it may be better if I tried the forum first. Thanks for reading.

Wow, you're willing to travel 40 miles and pay someone to install 2 bolt-on parts? Too bad I don't live closer. And this would have to be done in a heated garage of course.

Trust me, the FSTB is possibly the easiest mod to do - you just need the tools and very little know-how: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...8&postcount=98

The RSB may be a little more difficult, and it's nice to have another person to help: http://www.moodym.com/maxima/tech/addcorsb.html

If you really need the help, you can try asking here: http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=15
There are plenty of Max owners in the NYC area that could probably help you out.

Sorry, not sure if I can help you with that one.
It seems like you are looking for some eBay projectors and adding the angel eyes to them.
This may help: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....67#post5322667

IMHO, you're better off buying the 2002-03 headlights and buying the proper angel eyes...then again, you are in NYC, so there's the chance they might get stolen.

if you have a white maxima, they look good. Otherwise, they don't IMO....

They look terrible on a dark maxima, IMO....but that's just my own humble opinion

Cattman is the only ypipe you should be considering. That said, ypipe gains on 2k2 are NOT 20whp, IIRC. They are really quite minimal since they do not elimate the 2k2 precats (which is the whole point of ypipe).

With the VQ35, go with headers, or don't waste your money.

On a 00-01, the ypipe eliminates the precats and gives better gains.

Actually, for Cali spec 00-01s, an aftermarket y-pipe only gets rid of one pre-cat. There is still another pre-cat remaining on Bank 2. But even then, a Fed spec conversion to get rid of that pre-cat only nets an additional 3-4 whp.

Thanks for the responses .

Coolmax - I read in the forum that the only tool you need to install FTSB was a torque wrench (I read 32-35 pounds). I do not have the wrench. I figured it may be easier to have someone install both the FTSB and RSB (presumably the harder of the two). Of course in a heated garage

If there isn't anybody around here, I guess I try my luck with my local mechanic.

I know this is a probably a dumb question or the wrong place for it (wow overload on where certain posts are supposed to go) but I am a novice when it comes to fixing things on a car. Is there someone on here in Western PA, Western MD, Panhandle WV, Northern VA that can fix the O2 sensor problem. I dont really want to go the mechanic or dealer route because I have been ripped off so many times before (not with a Maxima)

you need to elaborate on what 02 sensor problem you're having (throwing code? car running poorly?) and then we can point you in the right direction. You also should put what year your car is in your info on the left - since not all 5th gens have the same engine.

My 2000 has a problem with morning sickness. The colder it is, the harder it is to keep running. When I start it, it revs higher than usual and stays at an idle speed for 10 secs and then it idles very low and dies. I have to keep the car in neutral at stops and rev the motor so it doesn't die. After about 10 mins of driving the problem goes away.

By the way, the car, even when ice cold still runs strong under acceleration with this problem.

Anyone have any suggestions???? Im at a loss.

I'm not sure. I haven't downloaded it yet myself. FSM = Factory Service Manual. It's what the dealer uses for reference in all their repairs.

Ther are honestly 100's and 100's of threads on the intakes for the 5th gens, and all provide minimal gains. Whether you use a WAI or CAI setup, they all provide very similar "gains".

lol very true about the getting stolen part. Yes I was checking out some of those lights on ebay but was a bit skeptical so I didn't purchase them yet. I'm asking a lot of these guys who sell them on there whether or not they come with bulbs; if so, the brightness of those bulbs, whether they really are dual halo, etc... I figure if anything, i'll probably wind up buying brighter bulbs or something.

IIRC, custom enterprise only had them for the rear and i dont think they are available any more.
you can actually "smoke" your stock ones. 2 layers of black followed by layer of clear. the benefit of painting the stock ones is that they will still reflect and light up the correct colors.

I have a set of Energy Suspension trailing arm bushings. I plan on doing the replacement job in the workshop at my place of employment. As far as mechanical skills go, I would rate myself as the lower end of intermediate, or just beyond that of an advanced beginner.

How long should I be setting aside for completing this job? This is assuming of course that I run into problems with removing the old bushings and installing the new ones. I work 12 hour shifts, of which I could set aside 8-9 hours total time when working a night shift. Is this going to be enough time, or should I make sure that I can keep the car in the shop for a second evening in case I encounter difficulties?
