HELP - programming new remote...

I want to program a remote from my last '02 for my new one, and I *know* the instructions are here somewhere, but it's telling me I don't have permission to do a search(!?)......can anyone point me to the directions?

THANKS!

I think the info is in your owner's manual. Look in the area where they say how to change the battery in the remote.

Thanks - that would be too easy

I found some 6th gen. instructions and it worked

If it really is in the manual, then the guy I found who's SELLING instructions for $6.95 must really be hoping to find a sucker!

Can you share those instructions please? I have been trying all day to reprogram a new remote, with no luck, I have followed a variety of intructions inluding these: http://www.nissanhelp.com/Ownership/...am_key_fob.htm

The very first time I did the key in-out 6-10 times, I did see the hazards flash, and it appeared the programming was successful, but the key fobs do not work.

After subsequent attempts, I don't get the initial flash, but following the remaining instructions, the flashers do blink twice when hitting the keyfob button, so I 'know' they are communicating.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the intructions, they are pretty much the same as I have found and tried, I follow them to a 'T', but I cannot get the flashers to show I have entered programming mode as stated in Step 2. I have tried all speeds, the only thing I have succesfully done is manage to make the old fob inoperable like the new one.

Any ideas? Car is basically stock, except for aftermarket Pioneer deck and Steering wheel audio button controller.

Maybe it locked you out after too many tries? Or maybe you're not making the "6 times within 10 seconds" time limit? (although the directions I found said 15 seconds...)

Is this possible? If so, is it on a timer?

Trust me, 6-12 times in 10 has been attempted in more ways than positions in a 900 page kama sutra book.

its crazy easy. i dont know why you cant do it.

not sure what the problem is.

are you completely taking the key out when you're attempting the 6 times thing?

Yes, I've tried everything, I don't want to go to dealer over something so trivial... I am quite able around a vehicle, so I don't think this is an ID-10T error.

There is a time limit. You gotta stick it in and out 10 times (making sure to completely remove it) in something like 7 sec.

I've done it fast, slow, every which way you can think of.

Weird thing is, if I do all the steps, and hit the button on the remote, the flashers do blink then, so I know it can tell its there, but of course they are not really programmed when I try them out.

Its that initial flash to let me know I am in programming mode I cannot seem to get, it did it ONCE the very first time I beleive, but never since.

Make sure you have the correct serial number and FCC number or the key fob will not work correctly. The key fob MUST match the original numbers of the original key fob that came with the car. If they don't, and you try to program the wrong frequency, the flashers will flash like crazy or not flash at all. Also, when doing the steps in programming, timing is the key or it won't work properly. Each time you mess up, you have to make sure you reset the procedure by starting over...open up the driver's door and start over.

^ Exactly... I followed some similar instructions, but I didn't have to have all my remotes with me, just the one extra I wanted to program (but I didn't have the max of 4 already programmed to my car, either).
