'Woke Up' my Maxima with TSB NTB03-022!!
I was having exactly the problem described in TSB NTB03-022 with my 2003 6-speed: a momentary hesitation when jumping on the throttle that felt almost like an automatic trans' kick-down, or turbo lag. The car didn't feel 'slow' at all; it just felt like it needed a split second to pour on the power.
I called the dealer to set up an appointment to get this TSB done, which for my car amounted to an ECM re-flash. Fortunately, my dealer was only a little bit clueless - the service writer got up to speed once I provided the TSB # and date. When they called me back with an estimated cost, they tried to slip a new MAF into the job estimate, but I resisted b/c my MAF was fine and the TSB clearly states my car doesn't require MAF replacement as part of the TSB work.
They did the work today, and only charged me 1 hour labor: $85.97. Result? Wow - I can definitely tell the difference! It's like they woke up my car - throttle response is greatly improved, and it's more fun now! This cartoon suddenly seems more relevant:
I highly recommend this TSB if you have a 6-speed Maxima and have noticed the hesitation I describe. It's not going to shave any 1/2-second off your qtr mile time because it's more about around-town driveability, but I'd say it's definitely worth doing.

But I agree on the seafoam thing. Not so much about the 17* because I didn't notice any difference
