front sway bar links
front sway bar links
when i turn my steering wheel all the way to either side i hear a loud clunk clunk sound...i heard it is the sway bar links?...is this true..also how hard is it to change these, and where should i get them from?
lube your bumpstops. it is a little metal rod that sticks out from your steering knuckle. it is usually covered by a plastic cap. if your car is serviced at the dealership, it is usualy lubed by the tech. its also not unusual for the cap to come off. get some brake lube or grease and lube up the cap and the metal plate that it makes contact with.
yup the brake stops, check to see if they are still there or broke off $3 at dealer. good trick id put them in hot water before putting them on, other wise they are just a bit small and will crack.
if its not that then yes, check the tie rod ends and sway bar end links.

Replacing the end links is EASY! My car's front end was making weird noises when turning and going over bumps. People from this forum told me that the reason is bad sway bar end links. I replaced them and things are just fine now. No noises, no clunks,...car is back to normal.
I replaced them myself. You need to lift the car on jack stands (on both sides), remote the front wheels and you'lll see them.
Make sure, when you put the new end links, not to forget any washers.
You can buy the end links from here... $16/each
