So Long Maxima

well if some of you know i just found out my car had frame damage as i went into a nissan dealership and tried getting a new frontier (carfax does not show it, autocheck does).

so i tired another nissan dealership and samething (half book) so...

i went to a chevy dealer just to see whats up and they had a 05 silverado with 8500 miles (short bed/standard cab) 4x4 v8 for $22,000 (basically a new truck).

i ow $10,700 on hte max and the highest offer i got was 12-13g (with out framedamage) so i am walking out with a basically new truck for $22,000 (out the door)

the time has come with the house now that a pickup is more usefull that a sport sedan.

i'm going back to chevy...the frontier is higher on my list...but the chevy is a bit cheaper...and no worries about the frame damage (legally i can't do **** the dealer i bought hte car from).

keep an eye out for my f/s post
(stillen fstb, progress rsb, smoked corners, 4th gen 16's)

Does it drive OK? Why are you in such a hurry to get rid of it?

it drives great...i kinda freeked out cause of the frame damage is all.

it needs little things...i have the bose cut out problem, needs front pads/rotors, and it has a few small scrathches...other than that...i have no complaints.

you can have some frame damage, but the harder you drive it around corners or autocross, the more the frame will twist. I know cause my max has frame damage from an accident being rearended. However I added a strut bar to slow down that process if not stop the front end twisting all together. But my car drives the same it did when I bought it. so dont sweat it too much.

When my Max was wrecked, I asked about frame damage and I was told that a lot of good body shops have computer controlled straighteners. The guy at my shop says they can get the frame back to as good or better than factory specs and that I shouldn't worry. I don't do auto cross, but i have been to the drag strip a few times and I don't baby it. I don't know the extent of the damage (app $6500), but 3 1/2 years later, no problems. Alignment and tire wear are normal. Just my experience ...
