I've searched and searched for information, couldn't find it, and then got flamed anyway.

Flaming for the sake of it is pretty dumb. But like they say, "it's the way it is here"
Yeah, I've noticed too that this forum is pretty hostile. It seems like a lot of people want to pretend they know everything, so they always have some smart remark about how they know it and you don't. But they never really help others out. Its too bad really. I spend a lot of time an a different forum for my Jeep. They are awesome over there about helping people out. Whether the question has been asked a billion times or if its the first time its been asked. They always have a friendly answer. Heck I even ask them questions about my Maxima over there when people on this forum are too stuck up to give an answer. I hope that this forum gets better as the Maxima is a great car. I hate to see people coming here for simple advice and getting turned away because of the boy racer attitude here. Anyway, back on topic.

Would Tein Htech springs be about the same story then? I think they are about an 1 1/2" drop. Should I expect cv problems down the road? Others have said they will be fine in a different thread. But this thread leads me to believe anything over 1" is not so good. By the way who makes a 1" drop?

That is correct.

I have a Pontiac GTO and spend time on LS2gto.com and when you ask a question there, the community warmly embraces the comrade into the fold not matter how elementary the question. And if it has been asked before, they will simply post a link right away or just answer the question.

But not here.

Unfortunately this is among one of the most pretentious sites I've ever seen and has only gotten worse over time since I joined up before many people here today were even members.

As well, these are only Maximas, not Ferraris or Lamborghinis. They have made millions of these cars and they're not that exclusive. They're neat cars and I love them, but there is not a reason in the world to play "Guardian of the Keep" with knowledge and information.

It's not that exclusive of a car nor very powerful compared to other more serious cars. And the "keep away" bullying and hazing and flaming is entirely unnecessary and juvenile.

Would Tein Htech springs be about the same story then? I think they are about an 1 1/2" drop. Should I expect cv problems down the road? Others have said they will be fine in a different thread. But this thread leads me to believe anything over 1" is not so good. By the way who makes a 1" drop?
I've never used those but the bottom line is this: If you modify the suspension beyond OEM, dropping it, you are simply increasing your risk for damage --period. Experiences will vary, but I can guarantee you that you will go through shocks/struts and very possibly CV joints much more frequently.

I've had a 3rd gen for ten years, about 5 of them modified with a drop, and living in LA, with it's crappy roads, my driving habits = higher maintenance. PERIOD.

Does this mean you will experience the exact same thing as me? NO. But be wary. That is my sound advice, buddy And you can ask me a question any time

Thank you for saying that! I've only been a member a week or so but the attitude around here sucks. I've been wanting to express this very thing but I feared I would get banned being the new guy speaking out. I've been thinking I just need to find a friendly forum.

I probably don't belong here anyway as I am not a boy racer but a grown up adult who just enjoys cars. I would have preferred to just had a stock SE but the one I purchased was already dropped. So I'm just trying to decide if I return it to stock or keep it dropped. It does look better dropped a little. But I don't want this car to keep me in the garage making repairs all the time. I need this to be a reliable car that will last another 100,000 miles. The guy before me has cut up the intake duct work too and I may replace that back to stock as well. I'm never going to wind my car up near redline to need the extra air flow anyway.

I'll have to keep your advice in mind. Like I said above I' contemplating returning to stock. But I do like the drop now that I've gotten used to it.

You actually deserve to have your teeth knocked down your pr!ck throat, calling me gay for trying to genuinely help someone?

How does answering a man's questions equate to going the gay way? Hmm? Why are you here, then? Everyone is born with automotive knowledge and if they don't know something they're gay or stupid? What if that man didn't know what to do or what to ask?

Treating the "5th gen" board like it's some hi-brow little clique is what is gay.

So would you still like that book on e-thug-a-nomics?

I never treated the 5th gen board as a clique. So you assume that I'm calling you gay for answering a question? HAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!! Please try again

I see that you did purchase the e-thug-a-nomics book already.

bonzelite - Just let it rest. The Law and others like him are only here to try and puff themselves up. If they knew half as much as they think they did they would actually be able to post a helpful comment instead of snide remarks. I've been here only a few days and I have seen more sarcastic and pointless post from people like him than I have seen helpful. He would rather waste this entire thread bickering back and forth with you than to actually post some helpful information on this topic or any other topic. Infact if you read through this thread he hasn't added a single intelligent thought on the topic.

So you like to ASSume that I'm trying to "puff" myself up?

Nice try. Would you like to go for number 2? Cause I don't see anywhere in this thread that I'm trying to "puff" myself up. Yes, you are correct, I don't post anything helpful in any other topics Please stop ASSuming things cause they make you look stupid.

+100000

Exactly.

And such behavior is counterproductive and useless to bandwidth, offering nothing of any value to anyone.

People of all backgrounds and levels of knowledge come here. It's a shame the clique of the few ruin it for the many.

I am glad you understand and there are good people out there as yourself. Enjoy your Maxima

The only one looking stupid is you. You deny it when anyone calls you on your evasive smart alec BS. You have contributed NOTHING of any value to this thread but juvenile retort and vacuousness. You have attempted to serve and help NOBODY buy your own egoistic ends.

"go for number 2" "try again..." ---- yeah right Don't flatter yourself.

You're not that hard to figure out.

I have yet to see myself evade anything. Can you point out what I evaded? Yes, I'm the egoistic guy...... Only big ego I saw in this thread was you trying to be an e-thug, would you like me to point that out for you?

Yes, trying to figure me out over the internet makes you smart.

Would you like to try for number 3?

No need. I stand by that and more. You totally deserved that.

It makes me call it as it really is. Very simple.

There won't be #3 or 4 or whatever because this is spent. Maybe next time things will be different.

Like I've said, TRY again. Cause you still have failed. I never called you gay for answering a question. I called you gay for whining like a little girl.

No need. I stand by that and more. You totally deserved that.
Yet you still haven't pointed out where this ego you speak of.

It makes me call it as it really is. Very simple.
And yet again, thinking you have figured me out over the internet makes you look dumb.

There won't be #3 or 4 or whatever because this is spent. Maybe next time things will be different.
Yet it seems like you need more than 4 guesses as you have failed at everything so far. Would you like to try for #6412?

No.

You responded to my discussion with the man whom asked for help, the help you and others denied and evaded with snide remarks --and then to his aid I engaged in meaningful dialogue with.

That was then a "gay moment" for you, with 2 gays touching wrists as you mocked us, as if helping him is just "not cool enough."

That is as plain and clear as the day is long. So cut the charade.

Being evasive and dismissive about that is only making you further look like a low-class snickering little pr!ck.

And I don't even care if you ,and those who are your homies, give two F#cks if I'm right or not because that one man saw the point and it was very clear to him.

Have the last word all you want and one-up me with further comebacks and it doesn't change anything at all. You can act this way all you want, all night, all tomorrow, next month, keep one-upping the issue.... BFD.

Those who side with you have already made up their minds, and those with clarity of mind and see my points have made up their minds as well.

So we are done here.

Goodnight.
