making a plug and play eu ecu harness?

if all goes as planned my eu should be on its way to me shortly, ive done ,imo quite a bit of research and discovered that greddy makes plug and play harnesses for many a cars, sadly i havent found one for our cars, i figured as much

im a lil worried about tapping into my harness so i was thinking of making my own plug and play harness, i have access to junkyards with several maximas, mainly 4th gens that i could salvage from. i was just wondering what year/s maximas would have compatable harness parts with a 00 5spd fed spec w factory 17s.

granted the wires dont have to line up or anything just as long as the plastic harness fits, i can read a wiring diagram and plan on using my own wire to mate the two parts together.

i figure i can cut the harness for one end and gut the ecu for the other end, then leapfrog the two parts and wire accordingly

it hink that makes sence. any insight or thoughts would be awesome.

thanks all!

Also since u have access to several maximas, I am looking for a ecu so I can have all the parts to make a harness. Is there a way to hook me up too? Let me know.

Thanks

I'm making one right now... at least I'm starting to. Its easier to get a wire harness with about a foot or two of wiring, that way you already have one end "done" and for the other end, which is more tricky, you need to find an ECM and hack it up for the end with the pins.

You can use any 00-03 ECM, but make sure it has all the pins you need.

Does anyone know the colors for the OverDrive lead wires that connect to the original automatic shift **** (2001 max SE AE auto)? Replacing **** with the Levoc **** w/ overdrive button, and the person before had a **** with no over-drive button. Dash is apart, and I see no loose wires....I know they have no polarity, but i need to know what colors they are so i can possible splice into them. Thanks ALL

Mine wires were white and black. Be careful, those are in there very tight, NO slack what so ever. You can get to them from the driver side of the shifter assembly where all the wires sort of meet and go into that relay and all.
