Replacing inner tie rods - need advice

I am going to try to replace inner tie rods by myself and I think I got most of the procedure right but I still have a few questions:

1. Is it recommended to replace outer tie rods at the same time too?
2. Is it recommended to replace the inner tie rod boots even if they are in good shape?
3. How do you press the outer tie rod back into the joint? (Use a C-clamp?)
4. Are there any other parts I need to buy in addition to the tie rods (and possibly the boots)?

you don't press in or press out the inner tie rods, they bolt on. I don't change the boots only if they are torn, otherwise, no need. If you are changing the inners, the outers are probably just as worn, I usually like to do both ate the same time (kill two birds with one stone) and you will save some money on the wheel alighnment (doing it once rather than twice). I've heard that you can rent the inner tie rod tool from autozone, or other place like that to unscrew them, i just use the udjustable wrench/pliers whatevers easier (i have a lift though). Once you take it off, setting it back in place is easy, don't forget about the locking washer. good luck.
