Battery charge light and E-brake light

Battery charge light and E-brake light

When I turn the car on the battery light stays on and so does the E-brake light, but the e-brake light dims slightly when I lower the handle. I checked the belts on the charge system and they are fine as is the brake fluids. The battery is only about 6 months old so I dont think that is the problem. Any suggestions would be great.

Alternator or cables for the battery light.

As for the brake light, take out the center console and check to see if the sensor for the brake is somehow stuck in the "up" position. If that's not the case check out the e-brake cable which is right there also. It goes through the body to underneath the car and is hidden by the heat shield. It is possible that the cable is binded enough that its pulling the sensor to the "up" position.

I checked both the battery cables and the alternator belt. Both were fine. All of the electronics in the car work fine currently.

It’s the alternator. I was puzzled why the brake light is coming on but apparently that’s what it does. I replaced my alternator last week.

i have an 01 it is your alternator if it just comes on now and then it is starting to go bad. mine was doing that for like a month before i took it in. nothing do to with the brakes

This happens with the 4th Gen's as well.

That's Nissan/Infiniti standard dummy light configuration for bad alternator (or loose connection to alternator, corrosion on battery causing loose connection to alt, loose belts to alt., etc.).

bad alternator man get a multimeter anc check he voltage through the battry with engine off then the same with engine on an u kno the deal engine on should be higher if nbot bad alt
