LTB2 creaking

I have a LTB Stage 2 (installed last year), and recently installed Eibachs/Illuminas in the front (have to wait till next week for the rears). Once in a while, after I installed the LTB, it would creak here and there, nothing too annoying. Recently, after the eibach install, every moving turn will cause the LTB to creak. It is very noticable, but definitely the same sound from before, just more aggressive. Any help, insight, etc would be appreciated?

P.S. I will not take off my LTB and ship it to you, kthx.

1. slightly loosen the two bolts holding it on the front end (the LCA bolts)
2. with the car on the ground, crank the two bolts down hard.

this should solve the problem. Sounds like you tightened them up with the car unweighted and the bushings are binding.

Thank you irish, I did install the LTB while on jackstands. Should I replace the bushings with ES variations or no?

I have the same problem...you need to tighten the two rear bolts down. If you're unable to do so, it means you've stripped the tap back there and it sucks for you....I still haven't gotten that fixed and to this day, whenever I accelerate or brake even really slightly it creaks...

I've found that if the front bolts are loose you get the "creak" and if the rears are loose or stripped you get more of a "clunk." Since I've taken the tie bar on and off at least 10 times, i'm quite familiar with all the sounds, lol.

you can,but if you have stock bushings you just have to crank the two front nuts tight with it on the ground (if you cranke them in the air, the bushings will bind up when the car is lowered since they OEM rubber bushings don't rotate like ES/poly ones do. this is the kind of time it really helps to have an impact wrench.

Gotcha.

Kinda OT, suggestions on an impact wrench setup?

there's only one that's worth the money. It's expensive, but worth every penny (i've used mine hundreds of times). I'd take it over any "mod" you can buy for the same price.....

the rest are weak and only good for taking off lugnuts (i know this from experience)

i semi agree my craftsman takes off lug nuts fine and works decently on others. but then again it isn't cordless...i wish i knew about this one when i was in the market for one. the cord can get to be a hassle.

Looks good, but $320 + $90 battery pack... eesh. I guess I'll start saving up.
