Key fob Prolems

Yesterday I was walking away from my car and pressed the lock button on my key fob, nothing happened.

I walked back to the car since my battery seems to be getting low for the past few weeks. I pressed lock again a few times and still nothing.

I press unlock, nothing, the trunk and it worked. Then the lock button worked.

So I went into Target. When I came back out my trunk had opened again by itself. Good thing nothing was stolen.

So this morning I started to play with it, I took out the battery for a while and then it worked fine inside the car. I got out and it started to act up again.

I tried to reprogram the key fob and it acts the same.

I opened the trunk, locked the doors and promptly removed the battery from the key fob and the trunk didn't open. So my problem is defiantly the remote.

I do have a spare and I can get it later today & test it.

Does anybody have an idea if I need a new remote? Maybe if I just leave the battery out for more than the 20 minutes as before.

You probably need a new battery for the key fob.

I'll try that too as the range has been up and down, but my 95 Max didn't have this problem when the battery ran down...

No idea. Physically they're different obviously, but as far as that, I do not know.

Ok so I just tried out my spare remote, and it works fine.

I'll try a new battery in the erratic remote, and if that doesn't fix the problem I will go buy a new remote on ebay.

Right.

Thanks. Why we are on the subject of my trunk opening by itself, I just had my outer CV boots replaced.
