Does the VQ35 dipstick suck or is it just me?

as for the dipstick reading. The curvature takes on oil and covers the dipstick from top to bottom everytime you pull it out. However if you look closely, there is a border where it suddenly goes from thick to thin oil. its pretty faint and you have to look closely but it gives me an accurate reading everytime.
