Anyone have this fixed by their dealer yet? I don't have a Bose but my rear deck really vibes over bumps...stuffed some foam in the woofer hole but not the final solution that I want...sort of dampened it but not completely...

If fixed, how is it done by dealer?

Why does the dealer have to fix this?

I mean why pay them 2-4 labor hours just to remove the rear deck to apply weather stripping? You should be able to do this in 1-2 hours tops. I believe you have to remove the back seat to get to the rear deck also. You might find a couple of loose or broken clips/fasteners too.

Nis- Because the car only has 3500k on it and won't cost me a dime

Plus with my luck I'd screw it up more.....

I'd expect this noise from a used car with 40K on it...not a brand new car...I'd buy a Grand Prix or Monte if I wanted to hear rattles...and that may be an option...lol

I recently read that there are some metal braces that are spot welded together, and the weld lets lose. The dealer fix is to that things apart, drill out the weld and put in a bolt. Things aren't just lose, they're broken.

I wish that I had pics, but I'll just explain. The trim piece that covers the rear deck is a very rigid piece unlike most cars flimsy materials. I think that this is for the beniefit of bose equipped cars. However, it will hit the metal of the rear deck and the two will vibrate. The solution is to cover the entire rear deck with dynamat-like materials. This will elimantate the resonation that is occuring.
