Thumping Noise from Wheel

Hi. I noticed a thumping noise from right front wheel on a used 2000 GLE I bought. Also had allignment problem at highway speed. Had the wheel checked and the rim was bent, so I had it replaced under warranty. Allignment is ok now, but still get that thumping noise. Same frequency as when you get a clicking sound coming off the wheel when a stone is caught in the tread. But thats not what it is. What can this be???

I had a similar problem
On my wifes Acura Legend. Like you describe I had a thumping noise that was traced to a bent rim which I had replaced. I didn't however replace the tire which looked okay. After having the new tire mounted to the wheel and balanced, I still had the thumping. The source of which was a cupped tire which resulted from the damaged rim. A new pair of dunlops set me back on the road without the thumping.
Flat spot on tire...
IT could easily alos be a flat spot on the tire from a hard stop(abs is standard though right) you said it was used right? previous owner could have did a power slide with emergency brake...that would create a flatspot on the tire and then produce a thumping and even possibly make the car feel misaligned..
