aiite, four of my friends and me, 5 in all, coming back from a basketball tounry, heading to a friends house...we pull off the freeway and pull up next to a pretty good looking girl...so w/ my new exhaust and drop and everything, we pull up next to her, i put the car in neutral and start revving...and i didnt look behind me but there was a riced out eclipse '93...and light turns green and i hit about 4krpms and pull out, going bout 45-50...i look in my rear view and see the eclipse tailing, still going 45-50, so im thinkn he wants to go, but didnt really push it...he switches lane and starts pulln up so hes about 1/2 car behind me and i put the pedal down to about 5krpms, and about second a later, im a car behind him and he never looked back....so i wanna know what he could have possibley had to pull out that quickly, cuz i never seen anybody pull out that fast...and funny thing is, he made a u-turn at the next signal so im wondering if he juss got off the freeway juss to go or what....damn, the things a drop and exhaust do...

I wouldn't call it got burned. 5 people in the car and you only got up to 5K RPMs? No, No man... you gotta go up to 6K! There is a power hesitation at 5K (at least on my dyno but I think I heard other people have it too). Probably would have at LEAST been nose to nose with him.

Should have Jettison the 4 extra people! j/k

 

could it have had a turbo? and juice? i doubt he squeezed but maybe sleeper? coulda used a bypass valve to keep things quiet.

 

It was probably just a turbo 5-speed....they are pretty quick...especially against an auto maxima fully loaded with people.

 

sounds like it could be NOS. a quick boost on the freeway before your car can even get to 5000 rpms.... yeah, sounds like NOS but I could be wrong

If it was a turbo he would easily pull on you. My brother had a turbo eclipse and all he did was buy a 2.00 plastic t-connector and splice it in the turbo vacumm line and BAMN he went to 16lbs of boost!
