VOB Nissan just got in a 6 speed today. It has Majestic blue, Bose, sunroof, side air bags, Meridian package all for $28,783 list. They already offered a discount of $1000 without me asking for it.

I just put down a deposit over the phone tonight. I'm going to drive it tomorrow. If I like it and IF they give me enough for my trade, I'll get it.

I've been tempted by boost, but I haven't seen enough positive feedback with the Stillen kit. I've heard rumors of other kits coming out. I wonder how close they are to production??

My parents and i had some young white guy as the sales person, i dun remember his name. Its a good idea to wait until the end of the month to buy a car, b/c they have to get it off the lot so they don't have to pay tax for it. But in your case, i dun think a 6speed will stay around that long, a few days at most

Good luck convincing the wifey, though. Why not trade in the Taurus and simultaneously upgrade the wifey to your 2k Max...or would that not work out? So the 6spd is in fact available now, but the 6spd w/HLSD isn't available until December? I think that's how it is (gotta hang out here more...been too busy lately - such is life)

I think the 2k2 Maxima 6spd's are gonna be a collector item of sorts. The last of the REAL 4DSC's with the best performance ever before the car goes full-sized and the Altima takes over the mid-sized slot. I'm afraid of what they're gonna do to the new Maxima, and these spy photos I've seen don't look promising...

I think a 2k2 Max would be something that you're VERY happy with for years and years down the road. I know it would be for me with the 6spd and hence I'm trying to scam myself one as well by pawning off my Accord V6

I'm not sure I entirely believe those pics. You are probably right the 5th gen being the last of the 4DSC breeds. The upcoming Infiniti G35 might pick up the slack though.

hehe...you gotta try to get her into the import scene. I've got Debbie hooked on my CAI and plugs, and I'm slowly getting her primed for the Comptech Header upgrade next summer, and maybe tints too

If you can get the wifey hooked (plug the improved fuel mileage first and performance second) and then do stuff little by little then you'll end up like Kev and Jane and have massively hooked up insane cars

But then you'll be paying Infiniti prices for a 4DSC instead of Maxima prices... :-(

That would be awesome...we've gotta do this soon. We'll all sneak out late one night after traffic clears and go for it

 

BTW your exisiting RSB will fit on the 2K2 Max.

Paul, I think a used set of 17' Enkeis RSF2's w/Road Huggers is on its way to Owings Mills, MD..no RSB for me, no rear tails (unless you wanna do the swap+lil'cash) Had to work my peeps at home on this anyway...if you gonna get a new car, think about using a 3M film to protect the finish...because you heard all these weak paint stories.

My wife is the same way! She doesn't understand why I always want a new car, and I promise her that "I will keep this car for at least 3 years". Needless to say that we have been together almost 4 years and I have had 4 different cars!!

 

LOL! I have to show my wife this thread. Last week she was saying how impressed that I kept a car for almost 2 years.

There's no way my wife is interested in the import/mod scene. She's not like Jane or GF 5.0. She's into classical music and playing the violin. My daughter is getting into it though. She's 7. Last night I asked her if I should trade in. She said no... that I should go for the Altima instead!!! I almost lost it. She said that she liked it better and the price was better.

Actually she is pretty bright... thanks to her Mom. (Definitely not my genes.) LOL. I probably talk about cars too much at home. Abby can spot a Maxima from a good distance. To her, those are the fastest cars on Earth.
