Peel 'N' Seal as sound deadener

Has anyone here used the Peel 'N' Seal as a sound deadener in their cars? And, if so, how did it work out?

Cascade is the spray, correct?

I used it in the past, spray can, I think it was called cascade... it worked fine... a little pricey tho.

Peel and Seal is the SAME THING as Raammat. I have used both in my system, and the main difference is that raammat is a little thicker. Peel and Seal is good for small things, or if you run out of the real stuff, but otherwise I would go with RAAMMAT.

tmuscedere, I have used peel n seal to deaden a trunk before.(though not on my max) It seemed to be extremely effective on the moderate level of rattling I was experiencing.

Sound

I am not really interested in using it to make rattles disappear as I guess I am one of the lucky ones, and have no rattles in my car. I am interested in getting a quieter ride though, and have come across quite a few people that have seemed to use the peel n seal as a deadener effectively.

If you want a more quiet ride, a mat is not the best way to go.

Mats offer more vibration damping than reduce noise levels.

For noise level reduction u need to look at products like Second Skin Spectrum or luxury liner or for that matter the ensolite foam that RAAMAudio has.

I did about 2 gallons of spectrum on the wheel wells of my maxima, did RAAMMAT in the trunk, Second Skin Damplifier Pro on the roof, doors, A/B/C pillars and rear deck and I love how quiet the car has become... you can say 85 is the new 60. All the interior panels were covered with a layer of ensolite foam.

The only bad part of wind noise is an issue with the maxima which you will continue to notice. You can do the rear window TSB if your car was affected by it but thats about it.

If you don't have any rattles, either you don't have anything going on in the trunk, or you don't drive a maxima...
