Hard Shifting after Highway Driving

I have a manual 2001 Maxima that is having a hard time shifting into gear. It seems to happen after high speed highway driving. Then when I come to the first stop, it has a real hard time getting into gear. Has only happened a couple of times.

Nissan put on a new clutch master cyclinder but it still does it.

Any ideas? Thanks

would this explain why my auto tranny sucks after getting warm? Why it gets lazy? and shifts hard?

If you had this issue before and the new master didn't correct it, then it's gotta be the slave. The slave is probably bypassing fluid and not fully disengageing the clutch. OR whoever replaced the master didn't bleed the system properly. This is totally unrelated to the Auto issues.

I really doubt it's synchronizers.

If you think it's the synchros, try double clutching the difficult shifts. If the double clutching solves it, then maybe it's synchros.

"high speed highway driving"

from the rules...
We are going to treat threads mentioning high speed driving on public roads the same as street racing. This means you get an automatic 1 month ban for the first offense and a permanent ban for the second.

I would say its the synchros. once the fluid gets dirty and after time it thinns out a bit. Try the redline synthetic MT40 (I think thats the spec IIRC)

This is not a master/slave cylinder problem, if so something else is also wrong.

This happens to me all the time..of course the short-shifter multiplies the resistance. you may also try letting the clutch out in neutral at lights and such to keep the fluid moving, this makes it easier, for me at least.
