For those with Hawk HPS

How many miles did you have on a particular set before replacing them? If you can, kindly mention what type of driving you do most of the time.

Thanks!

Too many variables........but to answer I went 40k miles before changing. I have a heavy foot, but not reckless. I typically go 10mph over the limit and never jam the brakes or ride them.

like turtle said...way too many variables.

to put it in perspective and remove variables...should last about as long as most other pads

Performance vs. wear

I change to Hawk HPS pads at my last pad change. The stopping capability is worth any shorter wear period if any. I do normal driving and have over 20K on the pads. After one or two panic stops to miss deer on a street near my house, (35 mph at night), I am convinced of the value of these. The stock ones would have resulted in body damage, instead of a near miss.
We have 4 cars, another already has the Hawks, driven hard. When my wife's Murano needs brakes, will definitly go to these.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm aware that there are a lot of variables involved but just wanted to see what people are getting out of them.

I'm relatively easy on brakes, coasting rather than stomping whenever i can, but i only have 19k on my HPS' and it looks like it will already need to be replaced.

And hows the brake dust on the Hawk HPS? Average, better/worse?

I deff have more dust as others have experienced, but also my HPS got pretty loud in the last 15k miles or so, but I havent heard of any one else having this problem

Stopping power is certainly more important and by the way of your responses it seems to be improved greatly!

A healthy dose of anti brake squeel on the backs of the pads should cure that.

I agree, i really don't care for the dust. Then again, coming from the Metal Masters, the HPS' looks relatively tame in the dust department.

THE HPS DUST LIKE HELL.......but they break for damn sure...I prefer stopping OVER WHEELS looking good 24/7

car wont do much go rear ended into the back of some one else.....but with great stopping YOU CAN CLEAN THE WHEELS
