2002 light mods..any mositures in units?

For those who has the 2002 lights mod. Have any one experienced having mositure in the headlight unit? I spoke to Bob from Stanford and brought that to my attention about some ppl found moistures in their 2002 lights. He said it may be due to the O-ring from the 9005 unit. The whole housing for the light seem to sealed up pretty good. I'm still waiting to put the lights on my 2K maxima. Another question I have is, Did everyone have the right parts for their lights. I also noticed that the signal plug didn't fit. There is an extra tab in the way. I know someone brought up the issue about the plug not fitting. My question to those who has that problem: Did u guys just shaved that tab off and hook up the lights? Thanks

No moisture spotted yet (washed the car yesterday). No problems with the signal plugs either.

Yeah I had a slight amount of moisture in one of my assemblies. But the next day I checked and it was gone. So I have no clue with that one right now. As long as it doesn't come back. You just have to cut off that tab that is in the way. That's what I did and they fit and work perfectly.

BTW... I took the car to the dealership for my normal checkup, and they charged me $20 to aim the lights. They didn't know what they were doing and aimed them too low! Kev, you said I need an 8mm something? do I put that in the little hole in the middle of those white things, or do I use a screwdriver type thing. Also, which way makes them aim higher. Thanks!

what?

yeah.. I'm wayyyyy lazy.. but I've had them in for quite some time. I said no moisture yet.

funny thing is.. I *thought* I'd wait forever to put them in.. but once I saw them there... there was no stopping me.. I was possessed by them.. they HAD to be installed.. I kept hearing tiny voices coming from the boxes "install us... install us, Tim."

Installed for about 2 weeks. Survived 4 straight days of rain and 3 washes. No moisture and no weird connections either. I also got from DaveB. And yes its a 8mm socket for adjustments. It should fit on the white "spinny" thing.

Me, I dont really have moisture, more like streaks on the inside from someone who cleaned the lens before sealing it. But the streaks are like as if someone did not use streak-free solution, cause there are like marks from hard water sort of.

Yes.

Make sure you don't aim it too high or you'll get flashed a lot.

Kev,

since you adjusted should I try in 1/4, 1/2 or full turns to get a small adjustment....Hmmm I guess what I am trying to say is how sensitive is the turn compared to the up/down of the beam? Any idea how to quantify?

Hmmmm... I say try 1/2 turn first. Leave that for a few days and see if you can see things at night... if not, go up in 1/4 turn increments (for another few days).

I did 2 turns because I'm dropped so low... but got flashed a few times and lowered it by 1/2.

I can't you understood my babbling. After reading it, I was on what I was talking about.

Summary: 2 turns got flashed, so now I'm down to 1.5 turns.

You're welcome.

A very VERY rough estimate...

my calculations, which may be flawed, would be

On a level surface, top of beam 5-7 inches up on the wall at 2 car lenghs. stock suspension.

How I get that? ok.. youre supposed to be 32 feet right? our car is about 16 feet long, so the space of 2 cars = 32. Light is supposed to be vertically centered at 5.2 inches, +/- 2.7

this doesnt take into consideration horizontal.. so I still may visit the dealer.

OK... I'm off today. I re-read the babbling I just wrote you and notice I had a fat grammar error. I think I need a nap.
