2000 SE Clutch fuild leak... advise pls
My 2000 SE has been leaking clutch fluid (DOT3) for a while and I add a little every week or so... I thought originally that the slave cylinder would be easy to service since I thought it would be under the tranny. Thanks Nissan... The slave cylinder is on top of the tranny buried under all kinds of stuff to the point I can't hardly see it much less service it (that's in the area of the leak... not leaking from the master cylinder). I can't tell if it the leak is from the hose to it or the cylinder itself.. any advise? Anyone had to service theres? Any tips on how to get to it. I have a qoute from a mechanic of $400-$600 to replace slave and master but they haven't looked at it yet and don't know if it needs both or just a hose. TIA for advise

It's one of two things on your car. It's either the slave cylinder that has gone out on you or it's the rubber hose. Randomly one day, my rubber hose had a needle hole and I couldn't pin it for weeks until I had someone press the clutch.
Now, I suggest you get a "stainless steel" clutch hose for $25 shipped (dealer wants over $65) under the group deal and a slave cylinder. It's all DIY, I did mine no problems and it's easier than it looks.
12/14/17mm wrenches. All you need to remove is the airbox assembly. Good luck!
