going to buy a 5th gen but pros and cons between 3.0 and 3.5

Yes, it does, but I've never looked at a Camry or Accord and thought 'Sports Sedan' It's like that Pontiac Grand Prix thing, it _tries_ to be a sports sedan, but it's just a pretender. FWD is FWD, it limits everything.
With all that said, the Max is a pretty sporty FWD sedan and I like mine most of the time. Any time really, other than when I do U-turns or park anywhere tight.

stock this thing handles like ****. period. regardless of trim.
my buddy with a same yr accord runs circles around me... but i am faster than him in a straight line.
i believe a lot of it has to do with the Maxima being tuned for ride comfort as oppose 2 a sporty suspension.
the rear suspension system is a beam. A BEAM. as oppose to an independent link rear suspension like the accord

in all honesty, maxima's may have the worst handling, and its bad, but exaggerated a bit, accords is a bit better but not a night and day, the 04 camry's are the ones that just filth all over both oppositions. and i've driven all three on almost a daily basis (well not anymore)
