Unconnected Wire...Help please!
I was working on the battery connections on my car the other day (when it was actually warm out) when I noticed this blue wire just chillin unconnected next to my battery. Following it back, it looks like it goes into one of my fuel injectors
I drew a red line next to the wire so you can trace it easier. I have no idea what this is for or what it does, but I know it can't be good.
I have been tripping a "cat converter operating under threshold" code non stop since I bought the car, once it gets warm enough I'll be putting on a new cat and checking all my O2 sensors. On occasion my car will idle very rough and almost kill itself, but these instances seem to be very rare and thats when the code is thrown. I don't know if these things have anything to do with each other, just thought I'd get all the info out there.
It's a 2001 SE autotragic. Any help is greatly appreciated.

remote start. depending on what year it is, it may be in a different location. on my 2001, the tach wire is at the ecu. maybe 02-03 has it at the coils, near the injectors.

that wire is for remote start, it seems that the remote start was removed but the wire is still there, the end of the wire next to the battery probably went through the firewall at one point and into the remote start/alarm module but they cut it and probably took it out but forgot to remove the blue wire. Just cut it next to the injector wire and tape it up with electrical tape.
I don't see how this wire would trip any codes unless it was making contact to the body of car (the end next to battery) and grounding the circuit where its not supposed to be grounding.
Either way, get rid of it or install a remote starter and use this existing wire. Actually, rather not mess around with someone elses lousy worksmanship, just take it out.
