2k2 HID

dear everyone:
i am the "beginner" of the maxima....dont know if u guys feel the same way as i feel. I feel that the 2k2 MAX's HID does not shoot really far, usually, if a car is in front of u, the light will shoot above the bumper, but the 2k2 MAX doesn't....it shoots on the bumper or even lower i guess.....and dont u guys think that the 2k2 MAX HID shoots lower than the other car's HIDs?? or the HIDs r all like that?? and it's really dark to drive at night i think...cuz the HID can't shoot too far. If possible, can i adjust the angle of the HID higher?? is that legal..?? and how?? need some help please....thank you all very much

perhaps yours need to be re-aimed slightly? There should be adjusting screw on either side of the lights.... it should be in the user manual...

Your mistaking the clean/focused line of the HIDs with the scattered beam of the 2K-2K1. My 2K2s are higher than my 2K1 headlamps. However, they do not offend anyone, because the beam is focused perfectly flat vs. the 2K1s that scatter light over a large area. When I pull up behind someone with my HIDs, the light pattern stops perfectly on the trunk lid, withOUT lighting up the cars cabin. However, when I would pull up with my stock headlamps, the light would shine into the cabin. The same thing happens on the side as I over take a slower car. It's hard to explain, but here are a before/after pic. The black tape is the before and the light is the HIDs. Even with the right side appearing to be lower, they DEFINTELY light up street signs further.

My 2K2s do shine farther than the 2K-2K1 headlamps, but the beam is concentrated into a smaller area/sweet spot, thus appearing not as bright farther out. I believe you can adjust them higher without offending on coming traffic due to the less scattered light pattern, if your really in need of the sweet spot moving further out.

I agree with ICE, it is more concentrated. But if you need to, just give it a 1/4 turn on the screw counterclock wise on each headlamp and see how that works for you.
