Me and Nauman installed the UDP
All I can say is god damn nissan and how they put the bolts to release the tensioner on that power steering pump.
It took about 2hrs once I got the old pulley off, I first jamed a 3/8 wrench with a 19mm socket on the pulley and had it resting again the controling arm and them got into the car to give it a crank to break the bolt, I though that happened cause I hear it break. Got out the car and guess what, I broke something for sure, broke my 3/8" wrench entension, it just tore that bastard up. So I then had to bring out the "BIG BOY" 1/2" breaker bar with the 19mm impact wrench sockets, and then the bolt finally broke. Guess I should have used that instead of the 3/8" socket wrench.
Took us about 1hr to get the pulley on and get the belts tensioned, took the car for a spin and the Butt dyno definetely tells me a good increase in hp. I mean just like everyone says, revs up a LOT quicker and no hesitation or "lag" when flooring it in top gear.
Now me and Nauman gotta do the springs, we probably gonna do this next week since we could not find a rental set of spring compressors. Pepboys or Trak Auto and have them.
But yeah love the UDP. And THANKS NAUMAN, finally got to meet you!
Best $130 I spend on the UDP. Yeah I got it used off a 4th Gen'er

No problem at all man.... You had almost the whole thing done when I got there, so I don't know how much I helped. But anyways, it was cool. We can do springs next week if not today. I may be busy Saturday next week, but Sunday should be all good. I am going to look for places that have spring compressors also.
Too bad we didn't run that 3.5 SE Altima we saw on the BW parkway....

Much thanx for that thing. I think the UDP will be my next mod, just don't think I can pull it off myself. Can you post any gotcha's or things you'd do different for the install. Hey anyone wanna help do my UDP when I get it? yo_its_ok/Hogan ?

Here is what you need to make it easier, a 1/2" breaker bar with a 19mm deep socket to take off the pulley bolt.
Then you need simple 3/8" rachet with 3" extension and 6" extensions to get the power steering pump tensioner loose, and the idler pulley tensioner loose. Also need 12mm and 14mm closed end wrenches to get the tensioner bolts loose. These bolts keep the tensioner from slipping even though the main bolt is holding it.
Then you just need to get the UDP on, get the belts on, tighten the tension so that the power steering pump belt moves no more than 4mm, and the main belt moves no more than 7mm. Then you good to do.
You can do it. Just be prepared to cuss and bitc# a little bit about how tight they made the spaces to access the bolts while doing it.
And your welcome on that "thing"

I read someones site that said something about a seal or something, that you needed to change a seal during the UDP install. WEll check it out it's in this link.

Tell me what you think. Thanks Dixit, i am curious to see if this applied to the 5th gen maximas. After hearing your testimonial and Rba's i am thinking about doing this mod myself. Thanks.

you don't need a new seal if your car is not very old.

Replacing the crank seal is a good idea, and good insurance even if your car is fairly new. The UDP install is a little harder with an automatic, but if you peg the flywheel properly you can get the bolt off with a long 19mm
I have a short writeup with install pics on my site:

Thats funny that you broke your 3/8 adapter. When I was helping BriGuyMax install his UDP we did the same thing. The adapter just sheared off.
