you are better off using stock 02-03 headlights for lighting and appearance.

i ordered a set to replace my oem headlights.i can't afford to buy oem headlights too expensive

 

2 new ebay headlights are what 600 shipped?
what are you doing with your old headlights and whats wrong with them?

 

tabs got broken cause i was too rough drilling out the rusted torx bolts.drive side light hid isnt working and the assembly got cracked open from a bird hitting it .passenger side light has small chips and dents and i have tryed wet sanding to get blemishes out but it still gets faded and absorbs dirt.I am the 2nd owner of car and i think the previous owner replaced the passenger side light with an ebay one and they dont seem to be the same quality as the other side.The ballast is phillips on one side and another brand on the other side .

 

Will you send me your old lights? i'll pay for shipping. i want to try something...interesting with them.

 

i was gonna experiment with them myself. if i change my mine i will let you know

 

Umnitza, do you offer just the ccfl rings if we already have the ebay lights or do you have something in your inventory that will fit the lights from another car?

Those do not look great, they look like crap. Plain and simple- these are just a set of eBay projector headlights with a h3 HID kit. The projectors just don't have a good beam pattern and there is no modification/adjustment that will fix that.

Sure it looks bright in those cutoff pictures, the projectors are only about 10 ft away from the wall, give or take, way to close to be able to say anything meaningful about the beam pattern. More accurate pictures should be at least 25ft from a wall, probably closer to 40ft. But even in those 2 pictures you can see hints of an uneven beam pattern with clusters of hot and cold spots that is characteristic of these projectors.

It is well known on these forums that the projector headlights are weak and perform poorly. Slap a hid kit in them and all you have is a poor beam pattern that has brighter hot spots making the cold spots that more evident.

 

agreed...the second pic you can see the hot spot concentrated in the center and it's dim on the rest of the cutoff...i'm sure the light output don't spread out as evenly as oem setups.

spend your money wisely, put some real projectors in those headlights so you don't get disappointed later on. any people that knows about lighting should agree with this.

i think i need glasses now looking at that bad cutoff. Low you had a nice cutoff with your TSX projectors

 

$750 would be a good price if we knew the exact components used in the headlights; Namely, the projector make. I've considered redoing my retro with black headlights and E46 single-xenon headlights so it's easier to flash people... Or actually finishing the retro on my old 00/01 headlights.

yes, but those are unmodified pattern shots we took prior to the final ones on the car. the actual output is quite good and frankly, the camera we took it with is not good. The real output on the wall was much better. The second shot was taken from 50' away and the first one was 20' away. The actual pattern is very even and yes, while there is a hot spot, the spot isn't as pronounced as it is with this crappy camera we used.

Umnitza, i dont belive you are doing anything else besides pre installing a hid kit. I will say it again there nothing you (or anyone) is going to do, to modify that project and fix its shortcomings.

The problem isn't just the big hot spot in the center, its all the other hot spots those projectors make and the darkness between them . Please go ahead and take a good quality photos with you good camera, of these projectors at 50 feet, on black pavement against a white wall. Maybe then you will see what i am talking about. Because it seems to me, for a guy who sells automotive lighting - you have a pretty bad eye, when it comes to evaluating what good lighting.

No, they are no different on the lenses, although we are exploring that idea and may have that as an option shortly.

No, what we do is modify the housing that the bulb sits in to get a cleaner better light pattern.

 

Still waiting for shots of the cut off from one of your "modified" headlights -like you promised over a month ago, but failed to deliver. And don't forget to use your "good" camera LOL.

Not really trying to jump on the bandwagon but just curious how will the housing will help project a better beam. If the ebay lenses are crap to start with, then I think their performance is really limited even with modification. I'm really interested in seeing the end results because it would be a cheap way for better brighter lighting.

Also... housing and reflector bowl are two different things, right?

 

I'm a newbie to the forum thing but I believe im posting correctly. Projectors from ebay just like everybody else have said are absolute garbage. I strongly recommond an Oracle Halo Kit. Although a bit hard to install for newbies with little experience in custom work you can find an installer (such as myself) that does them for a living. Here are a few pictures...





I got UV halo rings with a 12000k D2R HID bulbs. Strongly recommend this kit instead of the cheap ebay projector rip off.

You get to keep your stock headlights just customizing them without loosing any visibility. :-)
