My keyless entry got wet on the inside. What should i do?

02 Max, GLE
Caught in a micro-burst on a golf course. Blue Skies to Hail-50 mph winds and the hardest rain i have ever seen within about 5 minutes...

Me entire person was soaked from head to toe.

Get to car. Keyless entry the trunk and doors. Both work.

Get home, keyless lock the car which works.

Next morning the keyless isnt working. I pop it open and see it is wet inside. (Only thing i can think of is the water got in through the buttons being pushed since the seals were all good on the edge.)

I dried it all out with fans and small heat for about a day. Bought a new battery and i still am getting nothing from it.

When you add a new battery do you have to reprogram the remote? I found he below instruction but didnt want to mess with them unless i have to.

Am i screwed? Need to buy a new one? If so any reason i shouldnt use a one of the many websites selling these for $40-$50 compared to the dealers $140ish?

Thanks for any help/suggestions or ideas!

*Instructions*
insert the ley and remove it from the ignition 7 times. leave the key in the ignition the last time. the hazard lights should flash. then turn the key to accessory position so your radio works . then push the door lock button on the remote you're trying to program. the lights should flash again. that should do it.

well looks like the Circuit board is toast....it might work later on...it might not, best thing to do is to chalk it up, get another keyfob from Ebay, with a matching FCC ID...make sure the keyfob is brand name "Calsonic Kansei Corp"

it should cost about 15-20 bucks to replace on ebay, i see your already familiar with the programming directions...... i wouldn't bother with any of these sites, just go for ebay....thats what i did....a year later, my keyfob is still working beautifully
