Inspection Question \ HID Headlights

Hey guys just wondering about this.

A while back i got HID's installed and the techs couldnt get the high beams to work on my car for whatever reason after two hours of trying. I was like F it ill deal with it when the time comes.

So i failed inspection becuase i do not have high beams. Is there anyway i could just pop in the old bulbs or would that short out my electrical system. Anyone else have to deal with this or know what i could do?

I have to double check the hid box with what halogen bulbs i have if this is even possible.

Just unplug your car headlight bulb harness from the ballast harness and connect back to your halogen bulb with the bulb in the headlight and your golden. Should be no issues. Leave the ballast and harness where its at, and when your done with the inspection just take the halogen bulb out and plug the HIDs back in.

Should be a no brainer. Any halogen bulb will work. Just get some cheapo H4 bulbs that cost $10 (if that) a pack at autozone.

if they were 'professionally' installed .. just have them fix it free of charge..

if he couldnt fix it you get money back ..

YOU CALL PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED, ending with the HIGH BEAMS NOT WORKING

make them FIX IT....i can almost bet money they got the wires connected wrong.

do you have H4 H/L bulbs, or an H4 (sliding) H/L bulb?

there is a difference.......

Yea I'm going to agree with CEmax, Since the car is a 00'or01' it only has one reflector housing for both low beams and high beams. He probably has a mono xenon kit opposed to a Bi-xenon kit(high and low beam bulb). This same issue happened to me in my civic, I lost my high beams, and only had my low beams work, which I had to have my brights switch always engaged for my low beams to work.

People who put HIDs in the 00-01 housings deserve to fail inspection for creating excessive headlight glare, FTL...

Every post I see that comes from this guy is negative, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. You obviously have horrible manners, and you are a *****. Period. I don't think you contribute anything to this forum, or anyone on it including yourself. So why do you waste your time to come here and post negative comments to people asking for help. I bet you don't talk that **** in person...

And I put HID's in my 2K max, and it looks great, and I can see great. And I hope people do blind your ***...Sigh

you've obviously haven't been here long enough...or you're just talking out of your a$$ lol but it's ok...newbies will learn one day.

actually i don't see anything wrong with irish's comment...aftermarket kits do create tons of glare and it's dangerous for oncoming traffic. but i guess if you don't care about others then that's fine.

Here's a contribution for you: An all-expenses paid month's vacation. You are free to disagree with my opinions, but in the future please refrain from name-calling or attacking moderators. Both are specified in the forum rules. Do not re-register under a new username or the ban will become permanent.

As far as other contributions, I think I'll let my time here speak for itself.
