serpentine replacement

Hello all~

Sorry, I'm sure you have had this question numerous times by now, but I cannot get the search utility to cooperate to find previous threads on the subject of changing my serpentine belt.
Anyway, I have a sloped driveway and was wondering if I can change the belt on my 3.5L without having to jack up the car (which would obviously mean doing the job outside my driveway)?

Thanks
~Ryan

You'll have to jack the car up in order to get under the car and behind the engine to loosen the power steering belt. It is also ten times easier to do the job with the passenger side wheel off.

The link is actually for replacing the alternator but removing the belt is part of the process. Keep this link handy.

My mechanic was able to replace my squealing serpentine belt w/o removing the front tire or jacking up the car.

He just need to add a few attachments to his socket wrench.
