Lexus capsules + 3000k HID = YERROW! :)
Lexus capsules + 3000k HID = YERROW! :)
I had a pair of lexus 9006 capsule laying around for a while. I orginally was going to put this in my 4th gen, but I couldn't get the lens off for the life of me. Luckily the lenses came off easy on the 5.5th gen. I wanted the 9006 capsule so to better clear the HID bulb. Unfortunately the passenger light was cracked, so when I pulled the lens of, it split in 2. I ended up using clear silicone to glue it back together and seal the lens.
Another thing I notice is the 9006 capsule are just a tad bit too long. I had to modify the base to get them to sit as flat as possible on the reflector. When putting the lens back on, I think I cracked the driver side one. I also accidently dropped the passenger side capsule, so 2 small chunks broke out. I will need to redo these at some point.
The only thing I'm worried about now is glare. Since I removed the glare shield, and because of the capsule length, there was no way that I could attach it to the end of the capsule.
I will try to get some night pics later on.

I did that with my headlights, before I went back to the stock 4300k
When I had the setup I have to say everything lit really well at night

it was cool to have for a little while but I like the OEM HID look with yellow fogs like you have now
I'm doing a projector retrofit with q45 projectors (down the road)

Fogs only (the lights were just turned on, so they look a little green, but they get more yellow once they warm up). I had the camera in night-mode, so things appear dimmer:
