Can i install any 2001 ECM to replace my existing one? Or do i need to get the exact A56 number part? Any idea?

These are the choices available when searching car-part.com.

So it probably would matter, especially between auto/manual.

Oh yeah, don't forget you will need the dealer to reprogram the new ECU to accept your current NATS key.

 

Thanks for your suggestion oldngivout. Yes i've already checked with car-part and contacted suppliers but they would still like to confirm by checking the casting number on the box which starts with A56. I am able to get the 20 digit tag number from the box but not the casting number. Not sure if this is sufficient enough.
