Fog light goes out

This is so simple yet it's irritaing me.
The right fog light keeps going out. If I kick it, it's come back on.

I disassembled the fog light and all it is is the base of the light touches the surface of the assembly to finish the circuit and there is absolutely nothing wrong that I can see. The minute I drop the light into the assembly it lights up. All the connections are tight too and I made sure of that when I assembled it. Yet when I drive and look at the lights in a while the light will be off till I kick it.

Anybody ever have this problem with the fog lights?

thats strange, do you have an HID kit installed in your fogs?

if so then it more than likely is the relay that came with the kit....it more than likely has gotten wet

Are your lights Oem halogens, aftermarket halogens or Hid retrofits!

If you want to crack your foglight, then just KEEP on kicking it!

A new set of fogs will cost you $180 from Dave b. -- so I wouldn't suggest doing that anymore.

As far as the short - I'd suspect your bulb(s) not seating completely in the socket -- or the filament has a crack in it.
--that is, if you're still running OEM??--

I had an issue with my HID's in my fogs, same thing. Turned-out to be a bad ballast, not the relay. Relays are sealed -- so unless you have terminals on the relay that are corroded, I'd suspect the ballast.

If you are still running Oem factory Halogens, the bulb could be the culprit, Why not remove the entire foglights from the facia/bumper cover and swap left to right/vice-versa no need to mount, just watch if the assembly stilll flickers even on the opposite side and verify/confirm it's the assembly not the chassis wiring harness or foglamp harness, or change the H-3 bulb in that bad assembly, but inpect that the spring clip is securely holding the bulb @ it's flange/seat cause this is the ground for the bulb! Good luck!!!!

Yea, the car is running OEM lights everything.
And the ground clip is defenitely seating on there tight.
I will check all the connections again and that ground clip.
thanks all for the tips

Did you ever figure out what was causing your fog light to go out? I have the same problem. I changed both bulbs a few weeks ago thinking it was blown, only to find out that the passenger side fog goes out when it wants. If I hit the bumper with my fist, it will come on. I checked all connections and the problem is still there.

inconclusive. I checked the hold down clip and it looks good. I also checked the base of the bulb and it looks good. Also check connections and all good. However I interchanged the bulbs from side to side and have been working fine since.

Have you checked the connector? It might not be a problem in fog housing at all.
