and like others have said....competition is good......but if u think about it cattman still doesnt have any comp....its ony 2 companies that make headers 4 our car...obx & cattman...where the h3ll did hotshot go?

people buy cattman cause they dont have a choice.....i wanted headers bad...so as soon i saw the obx i orderd them the same day...who knows what they can do....but im almost 100% sure there gonna make power......cuz we all know the pre-cats on our cars hold it back so much....NOW once u have gotten rid of them..it becomes a totally diffrent car....am i right or am i wrong.....i seriously doubt there gonna make 0whp and 0TQ.....we dont know yet but i will know saturday

and from the looks of them they look like something.....and the y pipe looks a whooooooolllllleeeee lot better than the previous one they had

You know you can look up ages in peoples profiles right? Retirement age? Yeah, I wish I could retire at 31

Mercedes benz or aston martin? Do you know how much aftermarket parts cost for those? Not a good comparison, but it does show your lack of knowledge.

Since when did Cattman headers cost $1000?

Good luck with that RMT for $1000, you gonna use an OXB turbo too?

Go ahead and tell me to go take a nap again...

Dang man, dropped out school? No wonder you cannot afford quality parts for your car.

Keep bringing up typo's, that would be fun.

New Cattman headers cost ~$800 before shipping, most people nowadays are buying 5th gen Maximas for around what....$5000-9000? To pay almost 10% of a car's value for headers is a bit ridiculous. Of course there are more $$$ parts for more $$$ cars, but we drive Maximas not Mercedes, or Porsche...etc. Therefore I am also looking forward to the results of these OBX headers, could be another hit like the affordable Megan catback!

For a lot of us, the problem is that $1200 (Cattman headers + installation labor) is a big investment in a car worth about $7500-10,000 that probably has 80,000+ miles on it. Unless one plans to keep their car another 2-3 years after the install, spending that much might not be worth it no matter what kind of money you have.

That doesn't mean they aren't high quality headers, just that based on what our cars are worth, we will also consider cheaper options.

Most of us who have put headers on our car have done it for one reason. POWER. Not sound or looks. Someone commented on the fact that OBX will make more than 0whp and 0tq. Does everyone forget about the stillen flop? IIRC the stillen headers caused a LOSS in HP and TQ. Now people are saying these look like the old stillens? Not like the cattman? I bought my headers long enough ago to know that Cattman had great fitment, great quality and added POWER. If you want power buy the real deal, if you want sound go ahead and buy the cheap knockoffs. Remember that 4 months from now when your car is being towed to a shop because one of the headers cracked at a flange, or your flex section craps out. I gained 20% in hp and tq with the cattman's, worth the money to me. Stock 208/208. With cattmans 254/250 for a gain of 44 HP. The only mod out there going to beat that is a turbo set up for over 5g's

Until these headers are mounted and dyno, I don't really see a point to arguing back and forth about performance numbers. Also how is something a knockoff when it doesn't even look the same, pretty sure that is an important part of being a knockoff.

Seriously I wonder if everyone would have the same speculation is the OBX headers cost $700 instead with all the you get what you pay for statement...Meh was gonna oh excuse me, going to type more but lost interest.

Anyway is these do make power, 15-20whp I may consider getting them. If they don't I just won't be getting headers. My car has 120Kmi on it and even tho I do intend to keep it till the wheels fall off Im more interested in making look and drive/handle like one with far less. Can't run a IILTB with headers anyway.

I saw that a while back. But I plan to run a stage II LTB and there is no shop around that I trust to mod it.

exactly its just pointless and a waste of reading to me. Scottwax i agree with you as well. lets let the test dummy (not reffering to OP as a dummy) do his job and hope for good results. I dont see myself paying a grand for some cattmans either but if these dont work then oh well. it'll leave me no choice because i plan to keep my car till it retires also. it'll be the dummest mistake i've ever made but hey you only live once

Stillens headers are unequal Y with shorty primaries. Same crap SS Autochrome first came out with. Stillens original Y was equal length, much like this OBX design. They redesigned their Y to fit all VQ30. Its a 2 piece. So while their headers are a flop the original Y pipe is not.

I never said I was getting ANY headers. Even the OBX headers (with installation) would still be a pretty hefty investment, about 10% of what I paid for my car. Not to mention I'd have to get O2 sims that work because an SES light is an automatic fail in our emissions testing. There is no roller/tail pipe sniffer test, it is all done through the OBD-II port so before I invest in any set of headers I want to be 100% sure I can pass emission testing here.

Why would anyone get headers just for sound? I have a STOCK exhaust because it is quiet and adequate for up to 250 hp at the wheels. Last thing I am going to do is some cheap ricer noisy exhuast mod. I've had several cars with headers and I never skimped on the cost because the only reason to get headers is for the added power.

All I am doing is pointing out why the OBX header is attractive to many here, assuming it does provide power gains and is well made. Even the newest of our cars are closing in on 6 years old. Spending serious money on mods means you'd have to be willing to spend even more should the engine or transmission need replacement due to high mileage. If we all had newer 6th gens or 7th gens then the price wouldn't be nearly the issue.

Grab a couple of tools and have at it. They aren't hard to install at all, it's just that you're working in a tight space. Certainly not a reason to pay a lot to have installed.

No access to a lift.

Probably not much worse than the headers on my Chevelle were. So tight between the starter and the frame on the passenger side. My Accord was super easy, Took an hour. Same with my Celica.

You have any dynos man? These gains are phenomenal...I've read around 25-30 gains, but not 44. Interested.
