Just out of curiosity
I'm a new 2002 Maxima owner so this is prob a dunm question, but here goes. What are the main benifits of running a UTEC on a stock or lightly modified 5.5? My only experience with them is on boosted vehicles where lots of tuning is needed? Can a UTEC also be used to contol the auto trans computer? Thanks for understanding my newbieness

surra, since we know the z's use wbO2's stock, like the a34, would it be possible to find the wires for the O2's and somehow connect them to an aftermarket WBO2 and have the utec log the afr from there? Im not sure how much of the info you have about the utec beyond the wiring setup, but im just hoping that you might have some info on that

Any new word on when this is available?
and I want to use the UTEC on my automatic 5.5 gen, but is that possible? Looked into getting technosquare to do my ECU but they don't mess with automatics.

same thing with the TS ECU. our ECU is pretty much separate from the auto trans control. When you wire up the ECU, you definitely dont use any wires that are related to the trans in any way except for inputs the trans uses for shifting, but those are just tapped and go unchanged

More extensive testing is currently underway.
Still trying to get a final prototype made.
It wont be too much longer, Ive put a lot of R&D into this harness THIS will be TOP QUALITY when its all said and done.

I have made several testing harnesses. They aren't just want im wanting, the UTEC and 5.5 maxima are so quirky together. Thats why its taking so long, Its coming to a decision to pass ALL wires thorough the UTEC. That would about double the harness price. Which is why im trying just to pass a select few wires thorough the UTEC, to keep the harness at a reasonable price.

I currently am testing different variations of this harness currently in 3 Maximas.
over the next few weeks im hoping to be finalizing the smaller details, then going to test on a few more maximas soon, then ill do a big update on this thread after all that.

There are a few, im mostly testing out the most economical harness design. But also some UTECs have different issues, like misfiring while the utec is exposed to cold temps, like overnight in the winter. Then when the utec warms up inside the car the misfires go away. If i wasn't testing this in depth, i would not of known about these issues in cold temps. That's another reason this is taking so long.
