UTEC Plug and Play harness for the 5.5 !!!!
#247
Trying to purchase the parts currently. I'm really considering something like a group buy with deposits so i can raise money to purchase the HUGE minimum quantity just to buy from the manufacture. But even when parts are ordered it takes time for me to actually get them, then make the harnesses.
Any opinions on this?

Take deposits. I have the money set aside and want to get this done so I would definitely put down a deposit. That way you have some sort of garuntee for orders and the capital to order the parts.

Do it like a group buy where you need X amount of promised deposits (enough to meet overhead) before you start actually taking the deposits. This way you don't just take 4-5 deposits and still not be able to cover the costs.

I almost forgot about this thread. I have a full uncut engine harness and an ECU from an '03 V6 altima SE if anyone needs supplies for their plug and play harness i'm willing to sell. Its the same ECU and harness as a 5.5gen maxima. PM me for info. Its in storage right now and unfortunately I dont have any pics as of now, but its in storage. I'll try to get some up asap.

if you are only making the harness why are the parts expensive?
wire is dirt cheap, contacts cheap, connectors are a little more pricey...I assume you already have the crimper and obviously have the other tools needed from the pics.
I'd get quotes and first articles from wire houses before I even thought of doing it myself(only because i'm slightly-lazy)

mine is in for the tranny build so im delayed. as i told you five months or so ago, im willing to do a deposit if it would help.
Essential. How much are you looking for for your because i can solder halfway decent.
either way, im not concerned with another method as i have a utec with a dyno'd tune already on it. if you arent offering the service or what we talked about prior let it die out.

Im really considering taking deposits, i ust need to crunch the numbers and see what kinda deposit is needed and how many are needed.
Good things come to those who wait??? lol

Quick question...I bought a used UTEC that was previously installed on a 2002 Maxima. All the wires are labeled and it is pretty much ready to be spliced in. I still want to buy the plug and play harness, but will it still work even though the UTEC is a used unit.

Shouldnt be a problem. As long as the PnP harness is made correctly it will work.

Not really, some still have the cold misfire issue. Thinking of possibly looking into making some of these. Im just not sure of how big the REAL demand is, anyone who wants this harness needs to let me know.
Right now i'm making the first batch of 5th, 5.5 gen, Patch Harnesses. They will be available soon!

^ id have to re run all the numbers, but a rough estimate around 7-10 paid orders. Possibly less, or more.
The best option is to take a 5.5 gen patch harness and then hardwire the utec to it. This makes the utec pnp on a 5.5 gen. While reseal value actually goes up because its pnp for maxima, the Z guys really dont run utecs much anymore.

Just curious to see results for some one who has used a utec. I am used to tuning with nistune for my Z.

Is it possible to still buy one of these harnesses. I just bought a UTEC for cheap. If not did you just use a female connector off a 2002 maxima ecu and a male connector from a 350z ecu? I just don't want to hack up my ecu wiring.

Nevermind I read what I need to make it so I answered my own questions lol.
