Installed Exedy stage 1 & Fidanza

Well it took me a whole saturday but i got it done. I took lots of pics and i will be doing a writeup shortly.

My only complaint is the clutch chatter. Is this normal with this setup?
Also the clutch feels way different than stock.. all the clutch play is down at the floor and its quite a bit stiffer than stock which i will just have to get used to I guess. Is there any way I can adjust the pedal height tho? So that i don't have to push so far to get to the clutch play?

Overall tho i love the setup. With the fidanza the car starts alot faster, revs a bit faster, and i have more getup-n-go at mid-high end. The clutch grabs like a B*%ch with only about an inch or so of play, its deffinitely going to take some getting used to.

I would probably rate the difficulty a 5 or 6 but i did have a lift and transmission jack. As far as my mechanical background... About 2 years ago I had a 2wd Jeep Cherokee that i converted to 4x4 using parts off a wrecked donor (4wd version of the auto tranny, transfercase, front axle, both drivelines, shifter etc) but other than that, this is the only other thing i've done mechanically besides regular maintainance like brake pads etc.

Look above the clutch pedal and you'll see a screw/nut that attaches the pedal fork to something else, I don't remember off the top of my head. That screw will adjust the play and the engagement point of the clutch. You basically have to stick your head looking up where your left foot would be... Bring a flashlight.

I have a similar setup in my '03 (Fidanza flywheel with a valeo 350Z clutch). I only had about 1.5" of play at the bottom, with the pedal adjusted all the way out. After a couple months, I finally figured out a way to bring the engagement point off the floor some more. Now there is about 3-4" of play at the bottom.

By all means, it is best if you have more room to adjust, so the pushrod moves further into the master cylinder. The pushrod comes through the firewall and connects to the pedal via something called a clevis. Loosen the 12mm nut behind it, then turn the pushrod with some needle nose pliars. Hopefully there are enough threads on the end of the pushrod to make 2-3 full turns. Then tighten the nut again.

If you find you have no more room to adjust, let us know. I can post the trick I used. I just don't have time to explain it right now.
