Changing my valve covers
#41
How and why would you tighten something so tight it sheared off? Those valve cover bolt are small and only require about 75-120 in/lbs of torque.(that's just an estimated guess...I'm @ work) Take your time guy hope you find your keys thier probably in your engine compartment....

my keys were in my work truck but any ways, i didnt put any torque on the bolts... the one bolt that broke was probebly half way in, it broke with a small thread left on the bolt... anyways, i took the car to a mechanic this past friday and they are making it seem worst than what it is, i guess its a strategy to jack the price up... "oh man why does the car sound like that, something must be seriously wrong" i said it could be a vacuum leak that i dont know of, i explained the broken bolt and they made it seem like it was impossible to get the bolt out or it took some tremendous work to do it, "this bolt is broke in the head you know" blah blah blah, i know ima get jacked with the price but at this point ill just pay it and get my car back, its always how my luck goes, a simple valve cover turns into i need a new motor or some crap... i wouldnt be surprise if i was to hear that

rhonde prolly would, curtis can be a sneaky **** at times... i hope they do know that it was me, clint and tafari that gave there shop 70% of their customers, ask almost anybody locally with a max how they got to know him, im not really gonna be the type to hold that against ppl though its a business i just want the car back (my first car that ever slept in a shop) i feel sick without it i really do

Well here is what the problem was fellas, appearently the plugs that i bought was no good (definately gettn my money back) i went out and bout the OEM ones for $60 (most i ever paid for some damn spark plugs) the problem is fixed (which i still did myself) now i got smoke coming from my exhaust... ( i just remembered that i added way more than enough oil so i could drive to the shop hoping that it would leak right back out) but can way (WAY!!) too much oil cause the car to sound a tad different???
#48
you got to be very careful with aluminum threads,,they tend to strip very easy...once the threads are stripped ,,you need to re tap it with a larger size or drill it and install a sleeve which is pressed fit and re tap the sleeve to original threads,,that s a job for a professional machinist,,costly mistake,,

o.k ppl this thing is now long and drawn out, im kinda gettn tired of the issue and tired of the car... so after everything seem fine going to work today (i did notice all along it sounded a tad different) i was coming home when i kinda spead up, thats when i realise something still isnt right... 1 the car sounds like an automatic 4th gen with headers (i dont even have headers), 2 the car struggles alot when im at 5000 rpm, basically act as if its missing when im up in those rpm range... when im driving regularly is would sound as if there was a very very small miss to it... my question is, if one of the coil packs were in the wrong slot and connected would it cause that???

with the very little help that im getting from here, im gonna keep posting for everybody who thinks of trying this task (which really isnt as easy as everybody wants u to think) i tried spraying the whole damn engine down damn near... sprayed all the hoses and there is no vaccum leaks...

ill say just pay the professionals man... i wish i had the $$$ to do it, my bank account was on $0 any my oil burn got worst so i had to do it myself, according to everybody it was as easy as turning the keys in the ignition but when the time comes to troubleshoot you'll be left on an island in frustration

i did.. it was even worst when i changed it, but putting it back, i still have the very small miss and a terrible one at WOT, as if it wants to backfire and shut off, im just so pissed because the CEL would not come on for nothing, (im sure if my windows was tinted it would throw some kinda code though lol) my luck, for the CEL to not come on when i most need it

But to give others credit, diagnosing a problem over the internet can be really difficult. Some people know exactly what to look for while the rest of us have to go through trial and error and eventually give in (going to a shop or just dealing with it). That's the risk associated with DIY stuff - if you run into problems, you need a backup plan.
As for your problem I've read if you don't handle those coils really well they can get hostile. You could test for a bad coil by buying a new one (I know, I know) and swapping it from cylinder to cylinder to find the "bad" coil, if it exists.
#58
If it got to that point, I'd be sorely tempted to take it to the dealer with a Consult-II, and let them have at it. A bad coil will be diagnosed, accurately, in seconds.

Problem solved................. Bescause of the terrible misfires it wrecked the cats in my headers causeing it to be clogged up so the reason why the car acted like that at certain RPMs is because it was choking, luckily my headers are suppose to be here tomorro

Wow you've got cats in your headers???
